Are bees artists? Can people and bees make art together? We might not be able to answer all of these questions, but through ethical collaboration, we can learn more about art, ourselves, and the natural world around us.
GDAG is proud to partner with the Art Gallery of Regina on Between Us, a long-term community-engaged art project, part mentorship, part collaboration, connecting senior artist Aganetha Dyck with local artists, beekeepers, and honeybees in Regina, Yorkton, Swift Current, Estevan and Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
This summer, artists in Between Us will place their pieces into a beehive for one more season. After the bees have finished their work, the art of Between Us will be on display in 2023 and 2024 across the province.
Featuring a wide range of visual artists, fabric artists, sculptors, musicians, and more, the results of this unique project are going to be fascinating and unusual. Find out more from the Art Gallery of Regina, and stay tuned for updates as the full exhibition is planned to show at GDAG in Yorkton in 2024.
